Of course, the big news this month is our Senior Sectional October 27-29.  You’ll find a flyer and directions on our website.  Plan to volunteer:  we need all sorts of help!  We are holding an organizational meeting with lunch for volunteers on Tuesday, 10/3, at 11 a.m.  If you can’t be there, let Lynn Berg or Lee Roberts know how you are willing to help. There is a large manila envelope on the desk:  If you make a monetary donation, sign the outside of the envelope so that the phone committee won’t call you.

We start Easybridge on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 beginning with October 3.  If you know anyone who wants to learn bridge or get back into bridge, Easybridge is a great method.  After the first two lessons, it is also an excellent review of modern bidding methods, so feel free to attend even if you already “know” the game.  All sessions in October are free;  after that the usual $4 game fee will be charged, and there will be a brief  sanctioned game which awards (small J) masterpoints.

This is ACBL Club Appreciation Month:  clubs get to schedule extra point games for no extra charge. We will even get to have two team games with a smidgeon of gold in the awards.  The team games are scheduled for Thursday, 10/12, and Tuesday, 10/31.

Check the October calendar for the many other C.A. days we’ve scheduled.

We have two sessions of supervised play scheduled in October—10/10 and 10/24 at 9:30, and a mentor session on 10/20.  All of these are at 9:30 a.m.

We will participate in the M.S. Across America charity game on Friday, 10/13.  Charter member Gloria McDermitt’s son Vince Accardi is an M.S. sufferer, and this will be our second annual M.S. benefit.  Plan to come to lunch at 12:30 and stay to play.  We will have a separate 0-299 section if attendance warrants.

Another special game we are repeating is a Pro-Am.  0-299 players will draw for partners who are Life Masters or players with 500 points or more.  Sign up on the big poster on the whiteboard.
